https://7sage.com/lsat_explanations/lsat-75-section-3-question-04/So for some reason I treated this as conditional question.
So I thought
Premise: (stimulus)
A (sickly birds)→(generally )smaller spleens
killed by predators→(generally) smaller spleens
Conclusion: (answer choice) (D)
Sickly birds→(generally)killed by predators
Assumption
killed by predators→(generally) sickly birds
....I was confused.
I should not use conditional signals for "generally" or "likely" sentences?
Comments
Conditional (A->B) means when there is A, B is there too. 100%.
You can think about our famous example that Jedi and force users.
'Every Jedi generally uses a force' is nothing like 'Every Jedi uses a force'.
'generally' or 'likely', 'some' 'most' 'might' 'may' 'could' ... these 'possibility' or 'probability' types are not 100%. So it's not working with conditionals.
Hope this helps
I was wondering...is "generally"="most"?
If so, I thought from the stimulus maybe we could say sickly→[some] killed by predators
Most+Most=some...right?
But then this contradicts to what the stimulus says ("most" killed...)
or We Generally≠Most?
Am I just thinking too much?
