When a rule says S is a higher number than N, is that S-N or N-S? Does higher mean lower?

My brain is in that weird place where I can feel myself over thinking..

    It would be N-S.

    If we are listing things from 1 to whatever, the higher number is the later number.

    Depends on your game board. But if your game board is the standard set up starting at 1 and going from left to right, then "S" being a higher number than "N" would look like this: N-S

    This confused me a bit in the beginning but now I just think of the numbers being higher (bigger). So for example, if L is numbered lower than P it's L-P (1 being a low number, 2 higher, etc). You'll get it soon, it'll become intuitive :smile:

    This isn't stupid at all....take these two examples;

    1.) Four dogs are entered into a beauty pageant, dog A, B, C, D.

    • Dog B is ranked higher than dog C -- to rank higher means to have a lower number yeah? So B > C.

    2.) Four dogs are entered into a beauty pageant, dog A, B, C, D.

    • Dog B is entered at a higher number than C -- means that dog C comes before dog B. C > B

    Just be cautious of the way things are worded. Try and picture these things in your head as real life situations.
