Scholarship Negotiations - Conditions

Hey all, Merry Christmas!

I've received a handful of scholarships that have conditions attached (GPA minimums / good standing), and I'm extremely wary of them. I am wondering if anyone has heard of these conditions being reduced or eliminated during the negotiation process. If you have, could you share some resources on how this has been achieved?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, I’ve heard of the GPA requirements. Someone I know was offered a scholarship that stayed with him as long as he was in the top 2/3 of the class.

I have heard of people trying to negotiate to have the conditional GPA requirements removed. I don’t recall but I think it worked out for some applicants.

@oshun1 Thanks! As long as it's possible it's worth a shot!

It's definitely worth trying to negotiate. It's a common practice for law schools to put those people offered conditional scholarships in the same section so some people inevitably lose them.
