Yeah, I think you got it. If in the AC, process of elimination will be your best friend. Your second best friend will be context clues.
If the word is in an RC passage, really look at the sentences/words preceding and following it. Many times a word or sentence will not make any sense at first but later in the passage you will have an "ah ha" moment. In the RC explanation videos, JY will "plant a flag" or make a note around anything he does not understand. This allows him to remember that he has some uncertainty and hopefully fix it at some point later in the passage.
