  I don't know that you should aim for a specific word target (quality>quantity), but generally I think you should aim for one paragraph that explains your position, a second paragraph that explains why the other position isn't as good as yours, and a third "conclusion" that's brief. Or you could also do one paragraph explaining the pros of both arguments, a second explaining cons of both choices, and a third defending your choice, or another variation but I think three paragraphs is reasonable.
