  I think “To Whom It May Concern” is ok....but I think your professors would know since they probably have written LORs many times.

  Ah, yes I should have mentioned: I am a non-traditional student. 13 years since undergrad and so my recommendations will be from non-scholastic sources.

  I see! I think that when she/he is writing a general letter, she/he should use "To Whom it May Concern” or don't include a salutation.
