My advice: work your way through the course materials over the next month or so, take a PT, and see where you're at. IMO, you really can't infer anything from your diagnostic about how quickly you'll make gains.
And yeah, I did a fully timed prep-test, although it was a 4-section one with no experimental part. At least I think I timed it properly? 35 minutes for each section right? I was pressed for time on the LG section, but mostly fine on the others.

No, I'm usually too worried about time and a switch, when properly executed, certainly saves time. I suppose the better long term strategy is to write it all out and to keep practicing writing "small, fast and neat."
