Application requirements
Please discuss any topic that you feel is relevant to the Admissions Committee's evaluation of your application, including but not limited to, life experiences, motivations, and professional goals.
OCU LAW takes pride in conducting a holistic review of each application. The Admissions Committee will consider additional information that you feel is relevant to your application, such as the pattern of your academic performance, standardized test scores, or academic or professional success despite social, economic, or cultural disadvantage. Please feel free to submit a supplemental essay explaining these facts.
Please submit a résumé that includes your work, educational, and extracurricular or volunteer experiences.
ADDENDUM INSTRUCTIONS: If you answer "Yes" to questions below, you are required to provide a supplemental addendum explaining the details and current disposition. If you have any doubt, provide the information. If you fail to provide sufficient details, you will be contacted, and your application will be held pending receipt of the requested information. Failure to disclose information truthfully and completely about these questions could result in immediate withdrawal of an offer of acceptance or dismissal after matriculation.
Affirmative answers do not necessarily preclude, or even prejudice, admission to Oklahoma City University School of Law. But, if you have been convicted of offenses other than minor traffic violations, you are strongly advised to consult, prior to enrolling in law school, with bar officials in the state where you plan to practice law. In addition to a bar examination, there are character, fitness, and other qualifications for admission to the bar in every US jurisdiction. Applicants are encouraged to determine the requirements for any jurisdiction in which they intend to seek admission by contacting the jurisdiction. Addresses for all relevant agencies are available through the National Conference of Bar Examiners.
Upon your graduation from law school, bar officials will request a copy of your law school application, including addendums submitted. It is critical that information disclosed at the time of application to law school correlates with the information you submit to the bar. Discrepancies between these records could affect approval of your application for the bar.
