We only select a tiny fraction of the people who apply to tutor with 7Sage—then train them to make them even better. When you run the numbers, our hiring process is more selective than Yale Law.
We'll meet first to get to know you and talk about how we can help you most efficiently—without counting it against your hours.
Your sessions will be personalized to your needs, with each question hand-picked by your tutor to help you improve as fast as humanly possible.
If you're not satisfied with your tutor, we'll match you with someone else or refund you.
A good LSAT tutor should do more than just explain the questions you got wrong. The 7Sage website already has thousands of video and written explanations for that! A tutor is more like a personal trainer for your LSAT muscles. Just as a trainer watches your form and helps you make faster progress than you would on your own, an LSAT tutor will work with you one-on-one to evaluate how you solve questions. They’ll diagnose why you picked the wrong answer or missed the right one, identify patterns in your mistakes, and help you build stronger reasoning skills. A tutor will focus on the types of questions that give you the most trouble, and help you avoid bad habits that affect your speed or accuracy.
As you improve, your tutor will also continually adjust your lessons and homework so you’re always working on the skills that will have the biggest impact on your score. Good tutoring is 100% tailored to you and your personal LSAT journey.
We’re going to give you the classic lawyer answer here: it depends. The truth is, not everyone needs an LSAT tutor. If you’re just starting out with the LSAT, we recommend going through the 7Sage lesson library and building your foundations with lessons, drills, and PrepTests. If you’ve been studying on your own and making steady progress, you may not need LSAT tutoring yet.
But if you’re struggling to improve on your own, repeating the same mistakes, lacking direction in your studying, or feel like you’re wasting valuable PrepTests, then LSAT tutoring can make a huge difference. A 7Sage LSAT tutor will diagnose patterns in your mistakes, close gaps in your understanding, target your weakest areas, improve your speed and time management, and help you break through stubborn score plateaus. If all this sounds familiar, you’re at the stage where LSAT tutoring is a smart investment. Remember, a single additional point on the LSAT can translate to thousands of dollars more in scholarships!
Every tutor at 7Sage has scored in the 99th percentile on an official LSAT, but that’s just our first filter. We look for tutors who can clearly illustrate difficult concepts, accurately diagnose issues in students’ approaches, and guide others to develop the skills they need on the LSAT.
Then, before they ever work with a student, every 7Sage tutor is also rigorously trained by other seasoned tutors in the same proven teaching system that has helped thousands of other 7Sagers improve.

Our philosophy? We’ll credit Socrates. Before you even step foot in the law school classroom, you’ll become intimately familiar with the Socratic method in 7Sage tutoring sessions. You’ll notice that our tutors won’t just tell you the answer or explain the right process to you. Instead, 7Sage tutors push you to explain and analyze your own thought process to show that you genuinely understand the right answer and didn’t just get there by accident. This means you’ll spend less time memorizing “tricks” and more time actually developing the reasoning skills that transfer to every part of the test (and beyond).
The tutoring process starts before you even meet your tutor. Before your first session, you’ll complete an intake form so your tutor can learn about your study history, timeline, target score, and any other information you’d like them to know. They will also review your 7Sage analytics to understand your strengths, weaknesses, timing, and testing habits to map out a personalized path to your goal score! Based on everything they learn, your tutor will create your first set of overarching goals, and develop the topics for your first lessons. Rather than covering topics in a fixed order, we’ll prioritize the skills that offer the biggest opportunity to gain points.
You’ll then meet with your tutor for a complimentary 30-minute strategy session to review the plan, schedule your sessions, and get to know each other! From there, every tutoring session will have a clear objective, lesson plan, and takeaways to apply to your own studying. Your tutor will adjust your goals and plan session topics as you improve so you’re always working on the skills that will have the biggest impact on your score. It’s more than going through a handful of LSAT questions together.
Once you complete your purchase, you’ll receive a welcome email that includes a link to an intake form. This form will ask about your LSAT goals, strengths and weaknesses, and availability. After you submit the form, we’ll match you with the tutor best suited to your needs. Within 48 hours of submission, your tutor will contact you directly to schedule your intro session!
Your tutor will create a session roadmap outlining the topics you’ll cover during each of the hours you purchased. This will be personalized to you and your tutor will update it as you progress.
If you purchase three or more hours, you’ll also receive a complimentary 30-minute introductory session. This session gives you a chance to meet your tutor, review your session roadmap, and align on goals before diving into full-length tutoring sessions.
Your tutoring package does NOT include LawHub or access to the 7Sage website, both of which are required to work with our tutors.
We understand that not every teaching and learning style will be a perfect match—and that’s completely okay! You’re welcome to switch tutors at any time, for any reason. Our goal is to ensure you feel fully supported throughout your LSAT journey.
We offer a full refund (minus 6% processing fee) within 14 days of purchase if you've used one hour or less of your tutoring package.
