Features of the Audio Lessons
Transcript
Let's take a look at one of these lessons. Here, I'm in the Solicitation lesson in crim, and you'll see that here's an audio player, followed by a transcript. And we've got a diagram here to illustrate some of the ideas. You can see that the media player follows you down the page as you scroll.
Our bar prep course is audio first. What that means is that you don't have to be in front of a computer. As you listen to the lessons, you can be doing other stuff. Now, with this audio controller, you can control playback speed. So let's see how that works. Think it's too slow? Speed it up. Or if you think it's too fast, slow it down. And all that can be controlled here.
Now, I said you don't have to be in front of a computer, but obviously, there are benefits if you are in front of a computer. As you can see, this is a transcript. It's not just a transcript. It also has an outline. Right here we have the different segments of the lesson, key points of the lesson. It has the elements here where the professor talks about the elements.
And the transcript is also clickable, so you can skim ahead if you want. Let's say you know the definition and you just want to brush up on the elements. Okay, well, then click here.
And now you'll notice that there's some blanks. Why are there blanks? Well, you can toggle the blanks on and off here, but the blanks are there because, well, you know, this is not the most exciting stuff in the world, so we're trying to think of ways to keep you engaged as you study. One way that we personally find helpful is to have something to do.
So we've gone through all of the transcripts and we've strategically blanked out key phrases or words. That way, as you're listening to the lesson, you can stay on track by typing this out. So let's see an example of this, right? [sample audio]
And you can tab to go to the next blank, tab to go to the next blank, shift tab to go to the previous blank, and you're just going to be listening and typing [sample audio].
