    I think the problem with answer choice "A" is that its saying moving the plants around makes the plants hardier. But is that really the case? Line 6 and 7 say that crop rotation works because it denies pathogens a suitable host (plant) for a period of time. So its not about the plants becoming stronger but the pathogens not being able to find a suitable host.

    Answer choice "E" addresses that point and talks about the fact that the pathogens don't have a suitable host. If some plants are suitable hosts and we need to do crop rotation for them and crop rotation works by planting unsuitable hosts. We can infer that pathogens attack some species while finding others unsuitable.
