I called LSAC and they said they re-calculate GPA so it could differ from the one on my transcript.
I was wondering whether anyone has any insight on this, and on how to approach filling in the GPA if a law school asks for it (should it be the one on my transcript or the one in the LSAC report).

I would go off of your LSAC GPA unless your application directly asks for your undergraduate gpa
The one on the LSAC report. It's referred to as your UGPA. That's the one the law schools go off of and is the one that counts. That's the starting point and the one you give. Not the one on your transcripts.
