Does anyone have suggestions of gift to say thanks to recommenders? I saw an old post suggesting a mug from the school you got into. Idk if I'd want to be on the receiving end of a mug from a random school lol

I would recommend a gift box of wine, and different types of nuts and chocolates, usually theres a good variety of goods. I had class with one of my recommenders, who helped me a lot during a hectic time in my life, so some time during the quarter before class, as a thank you, I ordered her a dozen cookies from a baker I know, and she was very appreciative, even though it was a small gift. It would depend on the preferences of the recommender, but you can go wrong with a bottle of wine! :)

I sent one of my recommenders an edible arrangement which included fresh fruit, choc. dipped fruit and cookies.
He was my Prof. when I was in graduate school plus he was about to retire! He also taught my husband when he was an undergrad so we both said thank you with 1 gift. We got married after my program and then had children so we also added a family photo. Anyway, we think that he enjoyed the treats!
