😬 Scared

Going backwards!!!!

I am writing the LSAT in November. I was on a pretty good trajectory until this week. I am drilling causal reasoning and getting most wrong. I do not know what is going on. I go on the lives for CR, and at the time seem to understand, and then I drill and I am still stuck. Any ideas? What the heck am I not getting - rhetorical question, Ha! Anyone feeling like this?

In my experience, the live classes are helpful for acquiring foundations or low for intensity drilling. At this point blind review could be your best friend. If something is not clicking for a question type, re-read and re-read the question you got wrong until you understand it. I think the blind review tool is one of 7Sages most powerful. Do sections and blind review them every day for the next week. (For blind review: Make sure you don't pretend you know the answer so that you can reveal it and convince yourself you understand). I'm sure if you're (timed) drilling and blind reviewing consistently you can see the score for any LR question type continue on that upward trajectory until test day -- good luck and be patient with yourself!

I seem to be in the same boat. I have been studying various methods on and off for two years. I decided to focus on taking the exam in January. I went back to the basics with 7SAGE. I was feeling really good with what I picked up in foundations.

I tried a PT before proceeding to the logical reasoning and reading comp portions. My school didn't move a notch, still in the upper 140s.

I guess I'll report back when I complete the course. That was a bummer though.

I was going to take my test in November also but am pushing it back to Jan or Feb. I was taking a shorter training class by Mometrix and got consistent scores in the 160s on their PTs. But decided that I wanted to sign up for a program that had more tests to prep etc and signed up for 7Sage. All of a sudden, on these tests my score dropped 15-20 pts. So I definitely moved backwards!! Not sure what to do but Im going to change up my studying and is trying to power through this. Good luck!

Are you doing timed drills? Sometimes just the stress of the timer can make performance drop-hide it or do untimed, it feels unproductive but even if you're going slower you're working on your process so you can do it faster timed. Also maybe redo some basic mapping/lawgic drills to recement foundations. And take a break! Sometimes your brain needs to sit on something for a few days so it can make connections unconsciously. If it feels like too much to totally stop look for causal reasoning in everyday life (reading, discussions etc) and do some casual practice so you're staying fresh :)

Agreed! Could not tell if it was just me recently overthinking or if this was my first actual spell of burnout. With the test around the corner I would definitely like to make some sort of adjustment if I can. Any advice would help for those who have also experienced it.
