I didn't want to switch either because of the difference in visuals/aesthetics; it was really throwing me off, as I used the classic version from the Foundations to halfway through the LR content. However, I switched over a month ago, as the classic will disappear soon.
Now, I can confidently say that this platform is way better. I like that the notes are parallel to the content being covered. I like that you can see the analytics of your drills and not just for prep-tests, which boosts confidence overall cause you can see your accuracy % on drills you've done in the past month or week, etc. You get the gist.
There was an LR question on Typewriters and Keyboards that stated people generally hate to switch to the more advanced device, even though the change would bring about greater efficiency, which is analogous to your current situation. You'll get used to it in about a month, lol.
I started with classic 7sage and moved to the new version only about a month after subscribing. That was about 9 months ago. I think there’s no comparison: the new 7sage is vastly better. It’s more gracefully designed and powerful, with options to define study areas and retrieve analytics that the classic version didn’t have.
That said, I’m impressed that someone who has found a way to more than double the allotted time on an exam whose most challenging feature is the constraint of time, conferring a huge advantage over all those who observe the standard rules, would still find something to complain about.
@JoelKeenan There were maybe 30 seconds when I felt unsure about the switch to the new platform and then quickly recognized how much better it was for all the reasons you mentioned and more.
I'm an advocate for accommodations because LSAC has a demonstrated history of exclusionary practices towards those of us with disabilities, so I don't want to assume that the accommodations OP received automatically confer an advantage over others as you mention; that said, OP's attitude doesn't constitute constructive feedback and that's a bummer.
