Hi! I think I replied to your previous post and it is impressive that you are constantly improving! I was wondering if you have any tips on RC? Some of the passages are really hard and I am struggling to get understand them:( How do you go about hard passages? Also, do you think doing untimed is more important than doing a timed section? How do you balance practicing both timed and untimed? Thank you once again for your response!
@j_w180 Hello, thank you!! RC is difficult for me too. But what helped me a lot was doing untimed rc drills, especially hardest ones. Read the passage carefully, don't rush. Try to understand each paragraph. When answering questions, try to find exact support for it from the passsage. I usually start with timed ones and when I get too tired I switch to untimed. You can try this tactic and see if you like it. If you have any questions, I would be glad to answer them!!!
@FrederickBlackmon I would say that you should do that question type more. You can do 10-20 questions of that type during your studies. Try to find what can affect the stimulus. Do those questions untimed and before reading answer choices try to find the weakness in stimulus and make your own answer choice attacking that weakness. If you do this a lot it will improve with time and you will be able to kind of see what each argument misses or what can destroy it. I also struggle with flaw questions, but doing this helps me a lot.
congrats! so you said you studied 4-6 hours 5 days a week just doing core drills and practice tests? I just started with core and just doing the study skills and drills at this time. Can you explain when you started to take the practice tests and started timing? Did you retain the services of a tutor? I appreciate your assistance.
@Nazanine Thank you! Yes, I am now only focused on doing drills. I started more than a year ago and I started with PowerScore books. After them I watched lessons on 7Sage. I only did one practice test at that time and got 146. Then I was only focused on doing untimed sections, just to understand each question better. I am an international student so it was very difficult for me to understand even the basics of this exam. I only started timing myself after some months of drilling and it is still difficult for me to finish the section on time. I would love to have a tutor but because of high prices I am unable to do it. If you have any questions I will be glad to answer them!
@Cristina180 Hey! Thank you!!! Yes, I would. While it was very long, it provided me with the basics for understanding this test. You might not need the practice books of PowerScore because practicing on 7Sage is a lot better, but if you have a lot of time you should read the books. Good luck in your studies!!!
@MailJabrayilov I am aiming to September just finished with the basics of 7 sage I am doing LR now. Thank you for sharing your progress with us I really inspiring!
I'm just starting out (week 1 of studying) and failing miserably. I'm also a much older student - returning to school. Did you use full resources on 7sage? I'm about to sign up to get better access.
@DPickle Hello, thank you!!! I have been using the core subscription and it is great so far. I think some other options are better but I chose core because of its cost. I think that you can start there and see if you need something more
@beautifuljakey Hello, that is impressive!! I just started studying more consistently. I am using 7sage study plan and while I sometimes (mostly) can't complete the whole study session, it helped me to increase my score. I am reading all the questions very carefully and trying to understant every part of it. Since using this study plan and studying consistently I saw a lot of increase. If you have any question I will be glad to answer!

@j_w180 Hey! Of course
What advice would you give someone who is struggling to understand Flaw for LR and RC Questions?
