I just scored a 172 on PT 158 and most of the questions I miss now come from careless mistakes or overthinking rather than understanding the material. For people who scored in the 170s on the LSAT, what helped you tighten those last few errors?

Also, if you were simulating real testing conditions and were generally a strong standardized test taker, how close was your real score to your PT average?

Hi! My highest PT was a 174 and my official score was a 177. I found that during the official test I really locked in and focused, the adrenaline also helped. For my last few PTs (172, 173, 174), over half of my mistakes were from misreads.

In that range most mistakes do come from misreading, not a lack of understanding. You have to become more disciplined and strict with yourself, carefully read every word. Don’t get complacent, you’ll get there.

@170PlusRyan Would you recommend slowing down? I usually have 10 minutes extra…

@alemo018 yes! Absolutely. That should make a difference.
