I am graduating from my university in spring of 2027 maybe summer. However I am taking the LSAT in october and then in january if my score is not good. When do law school applications open for fall 2027 cycle and what is the deadline for applications to close? I thought I had more time than I potentially do, I am open to starting law school in the spring as well.

@AngelicaMatthews - Most American law school apps open on September 1. A small handful open earlier (Michigan, WashU, Arizona State, and Baylor being some names that come to mind) and an even smaller number open after Sept 1 (North Carolina and Yale being two such schools). So if you're a rising senior, this is the timeline you're looking at based on the details you've provided:
Sept 1 - Apps open
Oct - LSAT
Jan - LSAT (if Oct isn't good enough)
March/April - Get admit offers and figure out where to deposit
What we don't have scheduled in there is when you're submitting apps. That'll likely depend on your LSAT. If you get the score you're hoping for in October, you should hopefully be able to submit apps in early November. If you need to wait for the Jan LSAT ... well ... then you're kind of in "shoot your shot" mode because that's getting pretty late in the admissions cycle. It can be done and people can have success, but it's a bit like showing up to do your holiday shopping on December 20th ("OK, who can still ship and get things here by the morning of the 24th?!").
So what I'd suggest is:
Be flexible and be kind to yourself. I do all the travel planning for our family trips and we NEVER have the perfect itinerary. It's either a short layover or it's three hours or we need to take the 6:30AM flight, etc. But rather than stress about "perfection," we all know that we do the best we can and we roll with it.
Prepare accordingly. It's June 4th. You have time on your side right now. You can do LSAT prep and work on app materials (personal statement, resume, any addenda, etc) at the same time. You can't really do that once the academic year begins. And if you can get your app docs in a good spot this summer (heck, this month), that gives you the ability to apply quickly after that Oct LSAT comes back if it's the score you want.

The fall 2027 cycle opens in Early September of 2026! I believe regular decision deadlines are at about April 2027, though some schools close earlier or use rolling admissions, meaning spots can fill before the final deadline.
