By default, some PTs are toggled for both sections and tests. Does this mean that I would potentially do a PT that has a section I already completed as a section, or are they kept separate?

Yes, you could potentially encounter a PrepTest that includes sections you've already practiced individually.
If you'd prefer to keep certain PrepTests exclusively for section practice or full PrepTests, you can toggle each PrepTest to only appear under the Sections or PrepTest column, depending on how you'd like to use it.
When a PrepTest is toggled for both, here's what each option means:
1. Sections: You can take the PrepTest one section at a time and see your score right away after each section.
2. Full PrepTest: You can take it as a complete PrepTest, where your score will be available after completing all 4 sections.
@Mary I see! So for the below case, I could get a section with questions I've drilled before as well as a PT with questions I've drilled before. I'm sure there's a reason that this is the default setup. Do you know what's the rationale for it and why aren't they toggled in a way to ensure all sections and PTs stay fresh (and have other sections/PTs exclusively for drills)?
@LiaWang The default setup is designed to give you flexibility based on how you prefer to study.
Since some PrepTests work better for certain types of practice, the defaults are set to reflect that. Here's the general guidance:
PT101 to PT122: Best used for drills, but still usable for sections or full PrepTests if needed. These tests don't have comparative passages in RC.
PT123 to PT152: Work equally well for drills, sections, and full PrepTests. We recommend reserving 10 to 15 of these for sections and full PrepTests, and using the rest for drills.
PT153 to PT158: Most similar to what you'll see on test day. Best to reserve these for full PrepTests.
This way, the most recent and test-like PrepTests stay fresh for full timed practice, while the older ones are open for drilling. The overlap you noticed in the middle range is intentional, since those tests are versatile enough to serve both purposes.
As for PT141, it's one of our free PrepTests that we intend for users to access across all three formats (Drills, Sections, and full PrepTest), which is why it appears in all three pools by default.
That said, you have full control over how you'd like to use them! You can toggle any PrepTest to appear only under Sections, only under PrepTests, or only under Drills based on your study preference. If you'd like to keep certain PrepTests completely fresh, just toggle off the other pools for those tests.
