Self-study
I'm a 169 looking to get to 173+ by August. Currently my weaknesses are RC speed (avg like -3/-4 per section usually cuz timing) and conditional reasoning/phen-hyp LR questions. I was pretty committed to only using self-study to get my score but now want to pull out all the stops before this august test. I'm specifically looking for someone who has helped people make the same jump I'm trying to make.

If you’re still looking for a tutor, I offer one-on-one sessions along with a free consultation where we can go over your current score and goals. I was admitted to the bar in 2025 and have been tutoring since 2020. I’ve helped multiple students reach 180 and many others into the 170s, and I’d love to help you get there too.

Hey, I totally agree with Alexandra. It's definitely possible to do this on your own, but tutoring will likely help a lot. I've had a few students in exactly that position, and my recommendation would be to pick 1-2 things to work on each week between now and August, then just be deliberate and really dial into those small fixes. At your level, it's not enough to be able to get questions right. The extra points come from getting so good at the things you already do that you basically can't get them wrong, hope that makes sense. If you're interested, shoot me a message for a free consultation and we can go from there. If not, best of luck, and I hope you kill it!
You can make the jump yourself. what worked for me on the LR side was reading the loophole. When I’m paying attention to the section I’m getting -2/-1/-0 on LR after finishing the book. Now conditionals and phenomenon hypothesis are the easiest questions for me and I look forward to them.
Source: I made the jump you want to make in less than 5 weeks and my last two PTs were 172. Now I’m fixing my parallel method/diagram questions and I’ll have basically a foolproof way to get a 100% on LR, putting me at 174 minimum.
@AlexandraFriestman thank you for your reply. Do you think it's worth going through the whole Loophole book or just the conditional reasoning section?
@junda do NOT just read one chapter. Reprogram your LR by reading the whole book.
I've helped people make that jump before. 169 is definitely a common plateau point and often requires some extra oomph to get past. Definitely doable, but it can help to have someone to assist.
