I'm struggling with the application of SA because for me- the word "sufficient" denotes- just barely enough..."suffice it to say" for example...when ACTUALLY the meaning is stronger.

How would you explain this concept to me in a more basic way not using the word "sufficient."? Is "trigger" correct? Conclusion enforcer? Powerful premise?

Thank you!

Hello! If I were to explain Sufficient Assumption to someone without using the word "sufficient", I would use words/phrases like:

    • Bridge, Connector - for the gap between the premise & the conclusion

    • 100% Guarantees the Conclusion

    • Resolves Everything - it fixes the problem of argument

    And I like 'Conclusion enforcer'!

On the other hand, if I were to explain Sufficient Condition, I would say something like: 'If' of if-then relationship. 'Trigger' may belong here, since it 'triggers' a certain necessary condition.

I hope this helps, and good luck!
