I like 7Sage for its LSAT prep and its analytics. I also think its application tracker might be useful. But I think, with all due respect, the site is bloated with statistics that just aren't helpful. Like, the "Preptest equivalent" scores --- I don't see how that's relevant to a 12-question drill, where ostensibly my goal is to improve on a particular question type. That's not a diagnostic.
Similarly, every time I click on a school, I'm faced with a bunch of statistics on how likely I am to get in. I don't care about that. That likelihood doesn't matter to me. I am not going to get into school X 30% of the way. I'm not going to get 70% rejected from it. It's boolean---either I get in, or I don't. All it does is stress me out and make me feel sad about schools that rejected me on my first time applying despite my stats.
I was planning on using 7sage to track my apps, but if it's all about numbers that exist only to inflate/deflate my ego, or stress me out, or discourage me from applying to a school, I think I'll just make a spreadsheet (if anyone has suggestions). Not saying that's why those stats exist, but I don't get any use from them.
I could hypothetically ignore all this, but I don't like working with a UI cluttered by statistics that don't actually help you study for the LSAT or get into law school. I personally find it distracting, though if it helps other people, that's great. Any suggestions?
