just bring a clear water bottle. Like, stop at the store on your way there and buy a giant water bottle, then peel off the label. Also bring any medication you take, like adderall or whatever. I take that, and I have asthma, so I bring my inhaler and a chapstick and sometimes, like, cold/sinus nose spray. I always get like a stuffy nose in testing labs cuz they tend to be freezing even though its sweltering hot outside. I have taken it a bunch of times in person and remote, so I am a veteran. Also, because you are in a computer lab, it's usually pretty cold. You cannot wear a puffy type jacket of any kind. One time, I wore a Moncler light jacket that was just like normal knit sleeves and a knit back, but the front part is made of a puffy-like material. I had to take it off. I had a keffiyeh scarf with me, though, thank god.... those are allowed. They give you headphones or earplugs and kleenex if u need it. They give you pencils and scratch paper.
oh ya and there are lockers like right there in the office space, at least at the testing center we have here in San Diego. So you can put ur keys, purse, whatever u want in the lockers... they are literally right there. Thats where you put ur phone also. You need ur LSAC login which you can write down. They let you write it down and bring it to your computer with you. You do not bring ur own computer. They wave a metal detector wand on you like anywhere. They are usually super nice and chill
I brought snacks (trader joes fruit bars) that get left in a locker and are accessible during the 10 min break, a clear water bottle with no label (which you are allowed to bring into the testing area), and my ID and LSAC login. I didn't memorize my login, I had it written down on a post-it note and then just wrote it down on the test when checking in. Testing center provides computers and mine provided headphones in April (not sure if this is standard). The testing center will provide you with two pencils and two sheets of scrap paper. One note: don't wear/bring jewelry as you may be asked to take it off. Likewise, if wearing long pants, you may be patted down in your lower legs and you will need to turn your pockets inside out to show that there is nothing inside them.
it sounds intense, but the people at my center at least were really nice and clear with instructions. There were people taking other tests also, and the proctors even reassured me at the halfway point, telling me I could do it :)
yes they provide the computers. my test center also had headphones you could put on to cancel noise but im not sure if thats standard, i brought multiple forms of ID, wallet keys phone, and some foam ear plugs but they will have to inspect those to make sure they arent electronic. a lot of people bring snacks or water too but you have to leave those in your locker outside the test room
Yes, the computer is provided for you, lol. I don't recommend bringing much because you won't be able to bring most things into the testing area. Your bag, phone, watch, wallet, snacks etc will all have to be left in a locker. The locker was kinda small, but every facility is going to be different. I was in midtown manhattan. I brought a plastic water bottle with the label removed and a chapstick into the testing area. They checked the caps of the water bottle and the chapstick when I did the security check. It's kinda intense. Something important though: you gotta have your LSAC login memorized!
@PrincessDi it's easiest to just memorize it. it's just the username and password, so not a lot to memorize. LSAC suggests that you memorize them. you wouldn't be allowed to bring the sticky note to the test area. when I went, they told me to write my credentials on this floppy, laminated sheet of paper with a big expo marker, so it was kind of hard to read. I suggest doing what LSAC recommends and just memorize it -- it'll make everything smoother.
