I've scored consistently in the 160s, 164-166, but I always imagined I would get a 170+. I'm taking the september LSAT and starting to feel like I won't be reaching my goal. On my last PT I only missed 2 on my LR Sections and I missed 8 on my RC section. Does anyone have advice?

Hey! Here is the RC Drill set I found most helpful:
First, I did one 4 or 5 star passage completely untimed and I focused on completely understanding the passage and the questions. This helped me get used to the LSAT's writing style and to more easily see what parts of the passage they wanted me to pay attention to.
Second, I did two 1 to 3-star passages with a 15 minute time limit and then intensive BR after. This was rough at first, but it helped me see how my thinking under pressure went awry.
But also, don't be discouraged! -2 on LR is great. RC uses a lot of the same skills, so once you get a hang of it, there will be no stopping you!
For RC, are you running out of time? I've been able to improve my RC score by not spending any time taking notes of the passages and spending my time solely on reading the passages, questions, and referring to the passage when needed to seek the correct answer choice. Also, I feel like no right RC answer choice says something that's untrue. If you think something said doesn't match up fully (even if it's a minor detail), it's probably wrong and hunt for the most accurate answer.
@nr I've found not taking notes has also helped me tremendously. I always end up skimming and stealing a look at the passage again anyway because it's right there to the left of the questions haha I can't help it. I realized that writing down an outline, no matter how low-res, just ended up not really being useful. Definitely still want to keep note of the function/structure the paragraphs play.
@monmon Yes, I've found that looking at the passage again has helped me identify the right answer quite a few times! Sometimes I'll miss the tone or a specific word when reading the first time that's critical to answers.
@nr that part! and that's the kind of nuance that absolutely would not have been included in my low-res summary haha. Granted, I still have puh-lenty of room to improve with RC. I've just decided to embrace my tendency to want to re-skim instead of trying to train myself otherwise. I'm taking the August and September exams so at this point I'm just focused on refining what works for me!
@Farah see above! ☝🏾 truly just my two cents though and i am not a 180 scorer haha it’s just what’s been helping me be more consistent in the mid-160s!
@monmon legit same here you're speaking my language! best of luck to you this week :)
@nr likewise 😁🍀
read more in your free time and focus on analyzing the books you read. That way you're basically studying for RC in your free time. Then it's easier to apply those techniques to actual RC sections
