LSAC just announced the exclusion of dual enrollment grades in the calculation of your gpa wont be implemented until summer 2027.

I am writing to express my concerns regarding the recent policy changes. Adjusting the policy after the current cycle has already opened creates confusion and undermines the benefits of the initial decision. Applicants who planned around the newly announced policy are now being placed in a different position than they reasonably expected when the cycle opened.
The arguments originally presented by LSAC remain highly valid. Access to college courses varies widely among high schools, and students are often poorly advised. High school dual enrollment grades should not continue to negatively impact students once they transition to higher education. Continuing to incorporate high school dual-enrollment grades into the LSAC GPA can therefore create disparities that are unrelated to a student’s undergraduate academic performance. Pushing the implementation back by an entire year diminishes the immediate benefits this policy offers to many applicants.
Rather than delaying the change entirely, I urge LSAC to consider an alternative approach, such as allowing applicants to opt in or opt out of having dual-enrollment grades included in their LSAC GPA during this transition period.

I don't want to play devils advocate, but let's say LSAC didn't introduce the Dual-Enrollment GPA policy change in the first place. Then the GPA calculation would have been the same from previous years right? And if you were planning to apply this year, before these changes were introduced, then surely the reversal of this policy change doesn't make any difference compared to applying in previous years. I'm not an admissions advisor, but surely the effect of the delay of this policy on admissions isn't that great: seems to be the same admissions procedures as previous years.
@DaisukeKaga true, my frustration is at the fact they went back and forth on it. I think a lot of people, including me, got their hopes up so it just sucks that its back to how it was prior. Its just annoying to even announce something that they did not stand by- like if they didn't consider everything to begin with, why even announce it to everyone in the first place yk
@koi even more than got their hopes up - there are schools that have opened admissions already! There were people who got their transcripts reprocessed before the rules got changed back! It wasn't a proposed change, it was a change they actually implemented, for those students who were well off enough to be able to react immediately.
