😖 Frustrated

151 on pt 117...

Hello everyone, I'm really lost at where I should go moving forward with studying. I have taken the past month and a half off of full pts to focus on the core curriculum and just learning the material overall. I have been taking timed LR sections and been doing fine, but when I just took pt 117 I scored 151. I wanted to take the Oct LSAT, but I'm doubtful that I can hit upper 150s in time now that I got this score. Before I was hitting around 5-7 questions wrong per LR section and usually having my projected score in the low 160s or upper 150s. Also, on the exp section I only got 4 wrong on this pt.

Is anyone in a similar situation or has been in one?

Thanks

    Hi!

My name is Asma, and I’m a tutor here at 7Sage!

The important thing here is not to let one 151 make you feel like all your progress is gone. Since you’ve been away from full PTs for about six weeks, it’s totally normal to feel a bit rusty. Doing individual timed sections is pretty different from keeping up your focus, pacing, and accuracy across a whole exam, so it makes sense that your first full PT back might not go perfectly.

Also, you mentioned that you were previously missing about 5 to 7 questions per LR section and were projecting in the upper 150s or low 160s. Plus, you only missed 4 on the experimental section this time. That all suggests that this 151 probably doesn’t show your true potential.

I’d recommend reviewing PT117 closely before making any big changes to your study plan. Try comparing the sections where you struggled to the experimental section where you did well, and ask yourself what was different. Was it timing, fatigue, question types, rushing, changing answers, or maybe comprehension? Figuring that out will give you a lot more insight than just looking at the 151 score.

For now, I’d start bringing full PTs back into your routine, and keep up with targeted drilling in between. One lower score after a long break from PTs definitely doesn’t mean that upper 150s by October is out of reach.

    Best,

    Asma
