🙃 Confused

August LSAT

I have hovered around the 159-165 mark for so long now. I need to change something in my habits. I just got a 161 again on August, same exact score I received in June. I have two weeks until Sept. What should I adapt my study style to look like? Consistently -6 on LR and about -7 on RC but it varies wildly.

With just two weeks left, I wouldn’t try to overhaul your whole approach or take a practice test every day. Instead, I’d recommend looking back at your last few tests and making a list of every LR question you missed or felt unsure about. Try sorting them by question type and see if any patterns jump out at you. Once you spot the two or three types that give you the most trouble, focus your practice there. Start untimed so you can really slow down and think through each step, then move to timed sets once you feel more comfortable. As you practice, make it a habit to find the conclusion, check every answer choice, and ask yourself exactly why each wrong answer is wrong. This way, you’ll be making the most of your study time and building confidence where you need it most.

For RC, I’d suggest doing one passage each day. As you review, pay attention to why you’re missing questions, was it because you misunderstood the passage, lost track of different viewpoints, missed a detail, or just ran out of time? Before you dive into the questions, pause for a moment to check that you understand the structure of the passage, the main point, and how the author feels about the topic. Taking this extra step can help you feel more confident and steer clear of common traps.

I’d recommend taking just one or two full practice tests before September, and be sure to review them carefully. Two weeks is a great window to fine-tune your approach, but it’s tough to make big changes in that time.
