Maybe a long shot for a strong answer, but I'm wondering if it's worth applying with essentially the same application (same GPA and LSAT score) but much earlier in the cycle. I applied in January last year to my top school, and I'm wondering if applying again when the app opens on 10/1/26 is worth it. I'm studying to retake the LSAT again next year to apply 10/1/27, but am worried that a third application would be seen as a negative rather than a positive (i.e., the applicant wasn't strong enough two times, why say yes the third time). Thanks for any insight!

I would apply if you want in for the next cycle. You applied in January which is I think a little later so you'd have a better shot applying earlier. I would write a completely new essay. It can have the same gist but different at the same time too. Also not an expert but if you want in why not try.

I would also reach out to the school and ask for constructive feedback on you application. Some will say no but some will say yes! It shows initiative too!

@JacobBaska, who is an admissions stategy expert, replied to a similar question I had in this thread: https://7sage.com/discussion/62041/is-submitting-my-umich-app-with-a-169-even-though-i-m-scheduled-for-another-lsat-ok
