😰 Anxious

Sept LSAT :(

I recently got the lowest PT I've ever had right before my Sept LSAT this week, and I feel so panicked that I'm going to do bad. I've also taken the October date, and I may register for November, but I've been plateauing at the low 140s for months, I got a 149 once, but my Blind Reviews tell another story: I've gotten high 150s and 160s for BR, and I honestly don't know what to do better. I wish my first takes were better than my BRs. I know timing has been an issue for me as well. I've taken a virtual class, I've finished the CC, maybe I need to do more drilling and PTs? Any advice on what I can do to potentially increase my score from now till the October exam?

Addressing the poor PT score first: let it go! I would recommend not taking a PT the week of your test in the future, just to minimize unnecessary stress. You’re anxious, overthinking, and overanalyzing the questions/score right now most likely. Think of this last PT as the bad one you got out of the way so it doesn’t happen on your actual test day. You got the nerves out on a PT, so hopefully your real test this week will go much better.

As for improving before October, I definitely second the comments saying to analyze your priorities. I would spend most of your time doing targeted, untimed drilling. Really understanding the question types you consistently get wrong will not only increase your accuracy, but also help you know what to expect, which can improve your speed.

I would aim for 2–3 timed sections a week, and one full PT only if you have enough time to really deeply review it and put the answers into your wrong-answer journal. Quality studying is much more important than the quantity of questions you’re drilling.

Good luck! I hope this helps!

@Kihla333 this is encouraging thank you!! I’ve only done untimed drills thus far, I think I need to do more timed drills by sections. I do really well on untimed drills, so I’m pretty sure the issue is timing and not a conception gap. Really appreciate the encouragement! ☺️

  • I would take advantage of the feature that tells you what your priorities are. What really helped me is nailing conditional reasoning, and picking 1 question type listed my "highest priority" and continuously drill it.

@SharlizeStone thing is, I have been. I’ve used the Sage AI to help, and there was a really good trend for a while and now it’s like I dropped down again. I basically did the entire curriculum twice because I was struggling with most of them. But I appreciate this response!
