I recently received my LSAT score, and it came in lower than I was hoping for. Since both my LSAT score and GPA are below the medians at many of the schools I’m targeting, I’m trying to decide how much I should prioritize improving my score versus applying earlier in the cycle.

I’m currently registered for an upcoming LSAT, but it’s fairly soon, and I’m worried I may not have enough time to meaningfully close the gap between my current performance and where I’ve been scoring on Blind Review. I could push the test back to the following administration and give myself more time to improve, but that would also mean submitting my applications later.

Since most law schools use rolling admissions, I’m concerned that waiting longer could put me at a disadvantage as more seats are filled throughout the cycle. At the same time, I know a stronger LSAT score could potentially have a much bigger impact on my chances, especially given where my current numbers fall relative to school medians.

For people who have been in a similar position, how did you weigh the tradeoff between applying earlier with a weaker LSAT score versus waiting for a later test date and hopefully applying with a stronger one?
