This is the first topic that I can’t seem to get a single question correct on, it’s very frustrating. The explanation videos for these just leave me more confused. Is there a reason why Necessary Assumption questions are so difficult? Any advice or tips a for understanding these better?

Hey! So, Necessary Assumption questions can be pretty tricky. The right answer doesn't have to prove the whole argument or make it way stronger. It just needs to be something the argument relies on to work. That means the correct answer is usually a bit sneaky or less obvious than the ones that seem super helpful.
Start by figuring out the conclusion, what supports it, and where the gap is. For each answer, try flipping it; ask yourself, if this wasn't true, would the argument totally fall apart? If yes, that's your necessary assumption. If the argument could still stand, cross it off. Don't just look for answers that help the argument, because many wrong choices sound helpful but aren't actually needed.
