I'm considering applying ED to my top choice. Its mission closely aligns with my own, the location is ideal, and my scores are well aligned with theirs (my LSAT score is a tad lower than the median, but my GPA makes up for it).

The ED deadline for this particular school is December 1. I understand that timing matters for regular decision submissions because of rolling admissions (i.e., better to submit earlier than later). My recommenders already agreed to the "deadline" of November 20. Honestly, I'm ready to submit my ED application today, but my recommenders likely won't have their letters in until November.

Does ED work the same as regular in terms of timing? In other words, if I submit closer to the Dec 1 deadline, is it equivalent to pushing the spring deadline for regular decision?

Thank you for your help!

It really depends on the school! One thing you can do is just call them up and ask them this question. I think they'd be willing to give you some guidance.

But let's also say that there's an alternate dimension where you mention to your recommenders that you've decided to apply ED and were wondering if it would be possible to submit their letters a touch earlier (like, say, in one month on November 5). One month is still plenty of time to write an LoR. Just throwing that out there!
