I will be working abroad for the next few month, and though theoretically the schools can still reach me via my US number, I am afraid of missing texts due to technical glitches (android phone, you never know). Can I not check the "Will accept text message to cell phone" box on the LSAC application form? Or would that look negative? Thanks a lot.

It’s totally fine and completely ok to or not check that box! The reality is that the vast majority of comms are going at least start with an email (meaning that even if they want to talk with you, they’re going to email you first to set up that call). So not a worry at all!
