Study tips

Hi!

I have been scoring consistently 165 in practice tests, improving from a 164 and a 160, but i want to get better faster as I am taking the test in November, does anyone have any tips? I have a full time job, so it's hard to schedule time to study.

Hi there! If you're working a full time job and don't have much time to study, I highly recommend identifying specific question types, RC passage types/subjects, and strategies that you struggle with and want to work on. Then drill those in targeted drills: pick a question type, or a specific strategy to work on, and do a drill where you're very carefully adhering to that question process/strategy/etc. Review every question you got wrong, and go from there! You don't need to be drilling a huge number of questions to improve, and I've found that it works really well to identify a specific goal, drill toward that goal, and evaluate your progress afterward. It's also easier and more effective to carve out time for one or two targeted drills than it is to drill or PT without a particular aim. Your goal is to make every moment count as much as possible, and targeted drilling is a great way to do that! Make sure you're blind reviewing as well, since that'll help build understanding too.

And don't forget about the Core Curriculum, especially the LR Fast Track videos if you're short on time! They are a great resource for learning and reviewing LR question types, and can be great to review before your drill a particular question type. Hopefully that helps!
