Hi all, quick admissions question for everyone. I had one of the professors I am closest with write a school specific letter of recommendation. I did not ask my other professor or supervisor at work to do this. Importantly, the professor I asked for the school specific recommendation did not attend the school for undergrad or grad school. Would this be weird for an admissions officer to see, and cause more questions than it would help me?

Any thoughts appreciated, thanks!

From the admissions standpoint, I do think I'd find it a little curious why the letter writer was making specific reference to our school unless they knew a lot about our school (which usually comes from being an alum or having some other sort of connection). But honestly, this wouldn't be a negative matter. It'd just be a "... huh? ..." matter, which is fine!
