Starting with the August 2026 LSAT, if you are granted a Remote Testing Exception for the live, remote-proctored modality of the test, you will be required to use your smartphone as a second camera during your testing session. This new policy will only apply to the multiple-choice section of the LSAT. LSAT Argumentative Writing will continue to be administered online with a single camera.

I took October remotely overseas and you position your phone to the side and basically have another camera feed. It was a little wierd seeing yourself and another step to check in but overall not bad. The second camera disconnected though and I had to redo the check in process mid test but that was a WiFi/power issue. It’s a live video feed so your phone won’t turn off.

Read the guide there is no software for the phone, you need prometric on the computer and you will just scan a QR code. Make sure you do the prometric system check before hand.

I am sort of confused on this implementation.

Are there any August test takers who can comment on this process?

It appears that the secondary camera is set next to the main one, or will it be put in a different spot to allow for multiple angles of our test.

Are there apps we need preinstalled or does it connect through any phone web browser?

Before they didn't want us to have phones around, now we need to have a phone connected.. how can I be sure it doesn't go to sleep/idle screen saver and be fully recording/active during the test.

Does having another camera angle result in them interrupting less to "just see the backside of your elbows again real quick"
