As I work through RC passages, I am constantly reminded of the importance of low res summaries. However, I've also noticed that my lower-quality low-res paragraph summaries can skew my interpretation of the following paragraph summaries and significantly distort my initial intuition for understanding the passage.
For example, in the third passage in the critic/debate style RC lesson module, I did not intuitively pick up on the second paragraph demonstrating the central idea that corporation responsibility is derived from individual responsibility. In fact, I actually thought it was author's voice giving some credibility to the economist/s perspective because they were making a distinction between the morality of individuals and the morality (or lack there of) innate to corporations. As a result, the third paragraphs discussion of CEO's relation to corporation was somewhat confusing to me as I tried to consider it within the wider text and main point of the passage.
My goal is to improve my low-res capture skills so that they assists my comprehension instead of misleading my perceptions in subsequent paragraphs. Does anyone have any tips for improving my low-res summaries? More importantly, does anyone have any tips for noticing when you're formulating a bad low-res summary in the moment so they can be quickly addressed and corrected?
