I run out of time when during PT 51 before filling the answer sheet for last five questions (took me around 15 seconds) should I exclude all of the five questions from my score? Or deduct a point from my total score?

I started working through the LG bundle concurrently with LSAT Trainer 20 days ago, I manged to finish PT 1 to PT 11 logic games using Pacifico attack strategy, while trying to push down the time one minute under target time recommended for each game. The problem is that despite the fact I took every logic game from PT 1-35 at least once (nearly four months ago) my first attempt time always is at least 2-3 minutes higher than target time and for some wired games it is much higher.
Any idea how can I solve this problem? I am afraid that I am burning the Bundle without getting much out of it.
Hey guys, little background information, I studied for LSAT for six months during which I finished the syllabus, did couple of PT and did the Bundle that increased my score from below 148 (not timed) to 151(timed). But had to go back to uni for three months to get my GPA up. Now I am free and have until December to take the LSAT and need a 155-157 to get in. I will be studying for LSAT full time from now until December, I do not know where should I start? Should I finish the trainer, do a quick review of syllabus or start doing PTs and BR? I appreciate it if you could tell me what do you think.

I used a cheap Casio watch with a rotating bezel, and I liked it better than watches with a "reset" timer button anyway.
Would you mind sharing/providing a link to the watch you used? Thanks!

I couldn't find the exact one, but this was the closest. It's a few dollars more expensive than the one I bought, too.
I used a similar watch on my test, it was more than sufficient.
I am currently going through the LG bundle and I have a difficult time solving In/Out games with subcategory under time pressure. During BR I noticed in several of these games when one of the subcategories (let's call it category X ) get fulled only by putting one item in, there is reoccurring inference. The inference is, any two item from any categories that have different items of category X as their necessary condition are in a either/or relationship.
This is probably obvious to you but could you please correct me if I am wrong? Do you think having such rules might help on the actual test?
I got a question regarding my LSAT score improvement potential and would be grateful if you guys could tell me your opinion.
My current score is 150 and I am aiming for 158-160 considering my situation (explained below) do you think, it is a realistic goal which could be achieved by June or September?
- My baseline was 148 (I gave myself one hour per section ((I know it was bad mistake)) but I took other PTs including PT 70 under time using 7sage App two months ago and got a miserable 150 which forced me to withdraw from December LSAT
- I read Power score bibles plus Kplen LSAT Prep book and two months ago I got the Ultimate+ pack (halfway through the syllabus)
- Normally I put in 9-10 hours a day 7 days a week.s
- I am a ELS student and almost always I only finish 3 RC passages, 17-19 LR question and 3 LG games .
- I read very slowly (170 wpm)
- BR scores includes those questions that I could not finish under timed condition.
I have added my 7Sage analytic below, I would be grateful if you could give me any advice.
It depends on your goal, if you are aiming for 170+, you need to go -2 to -0 on LG consistently. LG bundle is part of CC for Ultimate+ users. I would recommend fool proofing LG bundle before taking any new PTs. I quoted one of my previous comments about the way I approached LG bundle I hope it would be useful to you.
My suggestion: after fool proofing LG Bundle, take LG sections of PT 1-35 under time and watch J.Y explanation after completing each section but this time when you watching focus mostly on how he teaches to perceive the right answer choice (instead of brute force) and try to implement his suggestions on the next section.
Do not get bog down on one question (take a hint if possible) but if you find one super difficult and you are confident about your master game board, skip the question answer others in that particular game then come back to it use your other set ups you drew; if nothing works finish the section and if you have extra time come back to it. The ultimate goal is to be able to systematically answer any questions so when under exam pressure you just follow your system. You need to develop a system that works best for you. The system I am trying to follow is like
1- read the question set up the sketch try make obvious inferences
2- check answer choices
3- If still confused take count of the items write them near questions and go through the rules one by one make inferences
4- check answer choices
5- If still stuck, SKIP the question
6- After I have done all other questions I will take another try at it by only checking the question against all of my sketches (I do not try to make inferences again unless I already finished the section)

Hey guys I am almost done with bundle but I notice for CBT questions when the correct answer is A I cannot choose it and move on I have to check at least B and sometimes C and only then I move on, wasting a lot of time. Anyone else had the same problem? How should I tackle it? Do you think redoing the bundle in sections with reduced time (30 min/section) could help?
Hi fellow 7Sagers, while commenting on the September Discussion, I would be thankful if someone can explain to me why answer choice C is wrong and E is right. It would be great if you could explain to me what exactly CPUE mean in the context of the question
I tried this game for the second time after a five months period, I got all questions right just under the target time but I spent nearly two minutes looking at the conditional rules to find some kind of deep inference which was a huge waste of time. Is it ever a good idea to look for deep inference when there are already like lots of conditional rules. I am not really sure when to stop and hit the questions. Do you have any rule of thumb that could help?
https://classic.7sage.com/lsat_explanations/lsat-22-section-3-game-4/
You don't. It is a waste of time, just make sure you actually answer the question on the exam.
Great! I will be there.

Hi guys, I got a problem with translation of last rule of Game 4 of PT 24.It would be great if someone could help me and explain my error to me?
The rule states V cannot be in 'unless' (negate sufficient) both H and M are in.
Can, is a indicator (negate necessary) which in this case because we have cannot should be translated /H or /M -->V and its contrapositive would be /V --> H and M.
The correct translation based on J.Y. video and answer choices is V ---> H and M.
Interesting article especially for those who want to score 170+. I find it very helpful and in some way validates the advice about trusting your gut feeling after mastering the test.

@.k13.0 thanks for tagging me, I will be there.
@ thanks for tagging me, I will be there.
I know it might sound obvious but I want to know your take on the fact that when a question states "If J in two..." we can take J2 at the very least as a CBT; I write them down in corner of my paper so they might come handy in answering rest of question and sometimes they helped eliminating answer choices in other questions in games from bundle (PT 1-35).
Do you think writing them down is a wise use of time? Have you seen such instances in recent games or this just happens in old games?
Some background information, I am a ELS students and some of the PT 70+ arguments are really convoluted for me (language wise) so I am trying to get into the habit of not reading the part of LR argument that starts with although as it is not an essential part of the argument except for agree/disagree questions. Do you think it is a bad habit? I have not been burnt by it yet. Please correct me if I am wrong.
@ thanks for sharing, I admire your commitment and good luck with your prep.
@ you made the right choice, thanks for sharing. I also ended up postponing and delayed going to law school for a year. It was one of the best decision I made in my life :)
@ please do not waste your time by reading Powerscore LR book. I would suggest using the time you want to spend on LR "Bible" more productively by taking advantage of 7Sage analytics and drill question types that show up as high priority for you.
Thanks, that was really fast!!
I was watching J.Y explanation for PT 68 Game 2 and he mentions that the stimulus allows for one day to be empty, and later on using the rules he infers that none of the days will be empty. But during the time section when I was reading the stimulus I thought otherwise because it mentions "hearing takes exactly three days" and I automatically thought this means at least one witness per day because if one day is empty the hearing does not takes exactly three days but happens between Monday to Wednesday.
My question is that, did I get lucky or I am allowed to make such deduction?
I am writing this post because I wished someone told it to me one year ago. This post is to all those 7Sagers who are considering to sign up for the course but they are not sure 7Sage worth it or not. I want to say do not hesitate, your time is the most precious asset you have in your LSAT prep and it is limited. 7Sage explains fundamentals concepts in a very understandable and simple way and do not try to make concepts more complicated than they are. I try to explain it using my personal experience.
I was watching an LG game explanation for the second time, going through the game after 11 months and it hit me why 7Sage is superior to many of other courses out there when J.Y explained not both rule in less than a minute. I remember more than one year ago when for the first time I encounter the concept of not both rule in one of Kaplan LSAT preparation books. Kaplan explanation was correct but it was so long and confusing that the one concept itself convinced me to sign up for their in person course. Fortunately for me they did not have any in-person course in my city which forced me to search for online course that lead me to compare them with 7Sage and give 7Sage a shot .
Some of the courses out their try make concepts complicated in their self study books with the primary goal of sign you up for their over priced in person courses, give 7Sage a shot before signing up for that overpriced in person course.
Please understand this is my personal opinion as someone who started below 150s and improved my prep score more than 16 points in a year thanks to 7Sage and its helpful community.
I will be there, I could not have gotten my score without attending the BR calls.
I will be there.
@ I printed the games individually from PDF version of PDFs. But as @ pointed out Ultimate+ has the LG bundle.
@.Sieradzki thanks for your kind words, I learned a lot from you.
@ Congrats, you are right mastering flaw questions are a necessary condition for success on this test.
Thanks for tagging me, I will be there.
I am aiming for -1 or -2 on LG and I just finished LG Bundle (30 seconds ago) using @Pacifico attack strategy. I kept track of my timing and score for each game from PT 1-35. What should I do to improve further? I was thinking to put my results in an excel spreadsheet to find those games which took me 10 or more takes to hit the target time and fool proof them again? Or take PT 1-35 LG games in section formats under 35 minutes?
Hi guys I am trying the Fool proof method and doing like 3 copy of one game back to back, when I reach 6th try it feels like not only I memorized the inferences but I also memorized questions' already. I will write out all the inferences under timed condition and eliminate all answer choices before reaching the correct answer. But when hit target time (normally one minute less than that) I feel its more memorizing than learning. Am I doing something wrong?
Please advise me to how to get the most out of Fool Proof Method.
Recently I took some LR sections from PT 18-35 and notice I could predict the answer for some type of questions specially resolve the paradox question type based on my previous knowledge of the subject discussed in stimulus. Have you noticed any such trends? Do you think it is helpful or it is going to end up hurting my score as most of outside knowledge considered assumption on LSAT?
The first time I heard the world LSAT I was watching Suits and I thought come on Mike how difficult it can be. Fast forward a year and I was just done with my diagnostic PT and it was a 148. My first thought was, LSAT is pretty hard. It was so hard that I gave it up for a month to reassessed my life plan and at the end of it I registered for December 2015 test and decided I gonna study LSAT full-time for couple of months and get a 160 which would get me into a decent Law School.
So, I borrowed a Kaplan LSAT book from library and finished it after a month by going to library from 08:00 am to 04:30 pm five days a week. Turned out it was the worse decision that I made during my prep because after finishing the book and taking another PT I got 149. My first thought was it must be the book so I bought power score books and finished them in one month by studying 08:00 am to 04:30 pm seven days a week.
During the same time I was watching YouTube videos about LSAT as break. YouTube being YouTube suggested a lot of LSAT related videos including 7Sage LG videos. I was afraid to take another PT so I printed out all the games from PT1-35 and sort them out based on the game type and did them under timed condition and watched J.Y. explanation for each of them afterward. By this time it was a week before December test I took PT 70 and I only got 152 and realized I will not get a 160 on December test and ended up withdrawing from the test. At that point I decided if I am going to do this I gonna do it right.
So I searched for an in person LSAT course but luckily there was none in my city, which forced me to signed up with an online company. I chose 7Sage one week free trial course, because I had not tried this one yet, bought and read most of LSAT Trainer as well as BRing the three PT that I took in two to three weeks. The free trial course was decent enough so I bought the Ultimate package and went through the core curriculum in three months. During this time, I was studying 07:30 am to 08:30 pm seven days a week. I made a mistake please do not study more that 6-7 hours, I burnt out two or three times and lost around 44 lb unnecessarily. The next step in my prep was fool-proofing all the LG games from PT 1-35 and attending all the webinars by different Sages. Needless to say, I postponed more than once, the more I learned about LSAT the less ready I felt.
The last phase of my prep took more than five months and consisted of taking 32 full-timed PTs and a lot of individual sections. Every PT that I took I made sure to BR it thoroughly on my own and then attend the BR call for it before scoring it. I progressively improved but when I reached 167 I stuck there and I could not go higher, I got a 171 once but it was mostly luck. I reached out to 7Sage community and got help from mentors like @twssmith , @Sami and @nessa.k13.0. I am glad that I got @"Cant Get Right" as my tutor to advise me and go through difficult questions and my PT recordings with me to point out my mistakes a month before the test.
The highest score that I got on a PT was a 172. On the actual test, I managed to get a 173. Thank you 7Sage for helping me increase my score from 148 to 173.
All liked and thanks for the new videos!
I took PT 50 last Sunday and got raw score of 62 but my actual score was 151. I did not feel it was particularly easier than other PTs. I used to get raw score of 55-56 and actual of 149-150, I am a bit confused. I am not sure if I improved or not? Is PT 50 really easy?
I asked my university professor if he could give me a recommendation letter for law school and he told me to prepare a draft and send it to him and he will sign it. I do not know what to put in, is there any guidelines or sample that I can use? It would be great if you could give me some tips and ideas about what to put in since he gave me a blank check.
The law school I am applying does not accept transcripts through LSDAS and do not ask me to register for the service, they only ask for LSAC account number to check LSAT score. Can the law school see my writing sample in other ways (e.g online) if no document is sent to them by LSAC?
I got a question for high scorers; when you see an argument like PT 22 - Section 4 - Question 21 that have sufficiency necessity confusion but you decide to not map it out, do you have a absolute certainty that it is sufficiency necessity confusion or you just have a feeling for it? I am asking because when I read the question I thought it probably is sufficiency necessity confusion but I was not 100% sure until I mapped it out during BR.
English is not my first language and I cannot finish all four passages in time; I barely manage to finish 3 passages. Any advice would be great
@-1 as much as I would like it to be the case, I think you have high hopes for the LSAC new president :)
General rule: If a sub category has only one in/out spot, split the game board based on filling that spot, no matter how many worlds comes out of it most probably solve the game or reveal a huge inference.
Context Info: I got serious problem with In/Out game with sub-categories and freeze when I see one so I try to come up with general rules to apply in case I freeze. I would be grateful if you could give me some feedback and tell me what do you think about the rule. If you can think of a game that this rule does not apply to it please mention in comment so I can redo the game.
I just formed a in person BR group with one other person. Given the fact that our meeting are relatively short cannot be extended. Could you tell me how the BR group process can be improved?
We use LR sections from PT 1-35, we take one section together and BR the section after a 5 minutes break; because our meeting are about two hours long we only manage to go through those questions that our answers differ from each other (usually 9 to 10 questions) and leave the other questions untouched.
I brought more than 10 pencils last time. I do not think there is a limit for how many pencils you can bring.
Hey, @ use the 7Sage analytics and question bank to drill your highest priority LR questions. In my case, after finishing the CC flaw questions still gave me a hard time, so I printed 80 or so of the flaw questions and drilled them as well as BRing them and watched J.Y.'s explanation for each of the question. Needless to say, my score improved on the next PT that I took.
Also, you can still improve your score in a relatively short span of time by getting -2 to -0 on LG consistently. LG bundle is part of CC for Ultimate+ users. I would recommend fool proofing LG bundle before taking any new PTs. I quoted one of my recent comments about the way I approached LG bundle I hope it would be useful to you.
