Immediate reaction to the score release is purely frustration... I knew from the moment I walked out of the test center on August 8th that I underperformed. It was my first official test and I'm taking the one in September, and I know that I will do so much better this time around.
But I can't help but to feel disappointed in how it all went. More motivation I guess!
Anyone in a similar boat?
One thing that has helped me with LR timing has been focusing on doing the first 10 questions in 10 minutes. Having this momentum usually leads me into doing questions 10-15 faster as well. This leaves me with around 18-20 minutes for the last 10 questions. But make sure not to rush, being accurate is the most important quality for timing improvements.
Once you can do the first 10 accurately in 10 minutes, the rest of the section opens up with the extra time.
I'm not the highest scorer in the world but this mindset has helped me so much on LR, and I hope it helps you too!
This was my first ever practice test! I was pretty nervous going into it, due to the fact I had only done 1 timed RC section (-8) and 1 timed LR section (-6). I'm very happy with the results, including the blind review.
It's very interesting how I got 2 early questions wrong in LR, when I usually get the first 10 correct.
