I am an experienced LSAT tutor, with over 10,000 hours preparing students for the exam. My students are attending or have graduated from a wide variety of law schools, including Yale, Harvard, Columbia, UVA, and many more.
I earned a 177 on the LSAT and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School. I practiced law at Covington and Burling LLP in Washington, D.C. before pursuing my M.A. in Law at Yale University. Both my practice and my academic work have focused on issues of Media Law and the First Amendment. During my time at Yale, I taught First Amendment as an adjunct professor at Quinnipiac University School of Law.

Independent TutorHi all! I'm Kerry, and I'm currently taking students for the August 2026 LSAT and beyond.
I'm a magna cum laude J.D. graduate of Michigan Law, and I also have an M.A. in Law from Yale University. After leaving BigLaw and transitioning into parenthood, I began tutoring the LSAT full-time in 2015. I've helped hundreds of students gain admission to dozens of law schools all around the U.S. and Canada. I have also contracted with multiple law schools and undergrad instiutions to teach or tutor LSAT prep, especially through their diversity pipeline programs. Moreover, I actively tutor law students and bar exam prep and have taught First Amendment and Media Law as a law school adjunct professor.
My emphasis is on true comprehension--there is simply no substitute for truly understanding what is being asked of you, what your job is, and how to do that job. I endeavor to break down the thought processes that high scorers engage in, step by step, so that you can progress quickly and consistently.
I live in the Detroit area, Eastern time zone, and I tutor five days a week (Tuesdays and Saturdays are my days off). I keep a wide range of hours to make myself available to students across various time zones, but I prefer to work between 9 a.m. Eastern and 10 p.m. Eastern. At the moment, my widest availability is Fridays and Sundays, though I have a few spots on other days.
My preferred session length is 90 minutes, though I'm happy to work with you if you have a preference for shorter or longer. My base rate is $120 per hour ($180 for a single 90-minute sessions), and I do offer package discounts of up to 20% off for a package of 20 sessions or more). Other discounts are available for smaller packages.

Hi guys-- last Thursday at 8 p.m. we met to work on conditional reasoning together. Let's do it again, but a more advanced version! Last time we did a lot of drills, and this time I want to put it into practice with actual LSAT questions. The link to the study group is below, and the Zoom link is there (same as last week).
If you have any specific questions you want to go over, let me know-- try to let me know by Thursday morning so I can gather the questions up. And let's try to keep them from before test 140, so that we're not messing up people's Practice Tests too much.

@monmon What I would love is if you (and anyone else who wants to do a more advanced version)-- over the next week when you are studying, if there is an LSAT problem with conditional logic that gives you trouble, jot down the test/section/problem number. This week, I am more focused on building people up with preliminary skills, and then next week we can put them into practice with actual LSAT questions.

@monmon I would say beginner up to intermediate -- starting with just diagramming individual statements and them moving into more complicated combinations of conditionals. I'm happy to do a more advanced version next week, though.

I'm hosting a Logical Reasoning study group on Thursday at 8 p.m. Eastern. This is the second meeting in the series (creating this new study group for better visibility for this session), and this time I'd like to tackle Conditional Reasoning. There have been quite a few requests for this topic, and it is definitely one that I've found to be holding a lot of students back, across a pretty broad range of PT scores. We will start with working on translating sentences into if-then logic, and then we will work on parsing more complicated paragraphs with linking conditionals.
