For all the people who chose B, I saw that as bringing in outside information that we DO NOT know..every other answer choice we either don't care about (if it benefits less people) OR don't know (if the industry is problematic)

Here are a couple counter points

  1. Premises are not "always" taken as true, they are always taken as support

  2. Why D is not the better answer choice:

    " A stated conviction" would not be "impossible for others to verify"..

  3. If nothing else you would use POE and even if there is a leap, A is the best choice of them all.. the best of the worst if you will.

I am only commenting because this question came relatively easy to me based on this thinking..

-To be eligible, AT ALL, a police officer needs to have an exemplary record first, above all.

-Eligible = Exemplary Record

-Without that he isn't even in the running.

- So whether he did the rest of the stuff (or not), only mattered if he was eligible first

Can context also be a premise as well? On question 3 the context seems to support the premise (and conclusion).
