For Question . How would one know whether "previously" refers to months before winter (like fall), or winter months in previous years? i get that its an inference but i feel like "previously" is so ambiguous it could go either way.
Help! I picked E because I thought it strengthened Estabrook's reasoning for choosing old techniques over new ones. If Estabrook's values natural deterioration and blemishes, and new photographic techniques are resistant to these things, wouldn't that strengthen the reasoning of NOT using modern techniques and instead utilizing the old techniques?
I have a question about E.
I had reason to believe it strengthened the argument because if the university is unsure how much they will collect, increasing tuition could provide "protection" from falling short on earnings. This would provide an ulterior motive that, if true, would make me believe they are lying with the reasons given by them that are mentioned in the argument.
For this question what made me distrust E as the correct answer choice was the term “faster”. To me, “faster” implies rate, and while it is certain that the warm beetles colonized the area earlier than the trees, they could have proliferated at a much slower rate than the trees.... it makes sense to me logically why this would be right in the real world (beetles usually reproduce faster than trees), but taking just the facts from the stimulus it was hard to trust that implication about rate of colonization just from one thing occurring earlier than the other.
