😖 Frustrated

Low to High 170s

Before the August test, I was scoring in the high 160s most of the time, with high scores of 172, 174, and 178. Miraculously, I got a 172 on the August test. This is including going to the restroom during a scored section, so I think I could have done better. I need a higher test score in October or November, but I am so tired. Any advice for making that jump? I want a 177.

I'm having a lot of trouble designing inferences, which is on me because I haven't practiced this skill as much as I should. I felt lost when I got to this question, and I usually have to go back to the stimulus multiple times while cross-referencing ACs (because I don't really know what makes an inference proper vs improper), which is a pretty bad time sink. Do you have any advice on how I could approach MBTs and MSSs with less fear ?

@Holly Shulman I was really confused because it seemed like the specious distinction was the MC, the opinion that we shouldn't be interpreting any literary works was the IC, and the sentence in question is a premise to support the IC? I couldn't tell that the conclusion was being directly supported by the sentence in question.

B is wrong because we don’t know the “stated expectations” of the researchers. Telling ppl to follow directions says nothing about their expectations as per results. Also, saying that the crim is not in the lineup is still not setting an expectation… plusr B does nothing to show diff between groups. Also, “tend” is too strong for MSS, as is “most” in C. C also does not … just no. E is weaker which is good for MSS, descr accurate , and speaks to the difference between the two groups .

@Juan2025 For many many many years the default was “ his” when writing texts such as these that could/should have been “ their”. I think women deserve a turn.

🙃 Confused

PT History

Does anyone know how to delete PT history on here? I went through and did none of the questions on a PT because I wanted to get the analysis on just one question on that PT but I don't want this PT to mess up my analytics

Hmm… I remember removing B as an option due to it seemingly doing the opposite of what I thought it needed to do. This might have been the first option I removed, actually. A , which I selected, was too specific and obscure. It assumes that the prediction accuracy is related to the abundance (or rather, lack) of evidence, which is not explicitly stated in the stimulus. Nota Bene: be mindful to note that inverse relationships can be stated either way in the future. MS => LA means ~MS => ~LA ( more specific(prediction); less accurate(prediction) ) . Practice is needed in recognizing the conditional relationships without conditional language. Clear contrapositive.

Hmmm I see why A is correct but not why D is wrong
