Jan Test + Applications

Are any of you planning to apply this cycle with your Jan LSAT score? I’m up in the air because while I really don’t want to wait around another year, I’m not sure I will get the best scholarships I’m wanting/the highest chance of admission, yet my dream school’s ‘ideal’ deadline is March 31st, with a final deadline in June.

Any opinions appreciated. I’ve been listening to a lot of ThinkingLSAT and I feel like I am talking myself out of applying this cycle, even though I’ll be well within the timeframe that the school gives.

I will probably have to miss out on the Friday meeting, but if you guys schedule a regular meet up time, please update me. My PT from Saturday was a 156 and I am hoping to break into the 160’s ASAP. Taking the January exam!

Finally! This gives me so much relief to finally start understanding. I’m not sure why these are giving me so much trouble but I think it must have to do with I am still getting caught up on analyzing content rather than trying to actually analyze argument structure. Great great practice - I wish I would have looked at this earlier on in the lessons.

I’ve been struggling pretty thoroughly with these but finding language in the correct answer that matches language in the question is helpful. Sometimes the language is too strong and therefore the answer you think is correct is too specific to be necessary, therefore it is not a necessary assumption.

So typically a few weeks before the exam date, LSAC sends you an email releasing the date when you can register on Prometric to take your exam. You're allowed to choose to test remotely or in person regardless of what your preference was that you requested. Also it gives you a range of dates and times that you can choose from but keep in mind that there's a que of thousands of other people registering at the same time so it's best to do it as soon as your preferred date becomes available. The email they'll send you is very straightforward and lets you know when registering becomes available (whether its remote, in person, and on a certain day).

I really appreciate the info, thank you so much. I’ll keep an eye out for the email.

Exam Registration Details?

I am taking the January LSAT and it will be my first official test. I requested to take it at a testing center rather than virtually. When do we typically know if this request is granted? Do I wait for LSAC to reach out to schedule more details? The deadline for this exam registration is Dec 3rd so I have time, but I was just curious! Thanks for your help and happy studying.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. If you would be interested in sharing some strategies/tips/tricks I would honestly love to arrange a few study sessions with you. I am having difficulty with RC and the Suff/Nec Assumption/ Strengthen and Weaken questions

If you want to send me a message maybe we can talk more !! Everything I know comes from the lessons and reading others comments, though, so I can’t recommend that enough. Sometimes other people just talking to themselves can help a topic click.

I for sure created too detailed of a low res summary for my first try, but I feel like sometimes the questions asked very specific things about details that I am afraid I am going to lose. I’ve never taken notes during RC sections before, maybe that’s the problem.

I literally shouted “yes!” after getting the answer right because I have been struggling with these so badly and a lvl 4 question is a huge win.

Even when I get a problem correct, I come scroll through the comments for a good laugh and some encouragement. The struggle is so relatable.

This is amazing news, thanks for sharing. Which foundation lessons really helped you?

Thank you so much (: Having a solid understanding of the arguments section, especially the spectrum of support, has helped me the most. I also think that the grammar portion is really a great refresher, because it wasn't something I had thought I would need as much as I have. Watching the videos on Modifiers and seeing just how complex a question can seem intimidating. But then, once you get through the extra layers of verbiage, all the questions are relatively the same.

I think when it comes to practice / drills as well, I don't allow myself move on until I get it right, and I'll keep refreshing/doing more drills until I feel comfortable. Practice, practice, practice when the questions are basically formulas.

10+ Point Improvement in 1 Week

Last week, with no prior knowledge of the test, I achieved a diagnostic score of 146.

This morning, I received a 156 on my practice test! I have worked my way diligently through the foundations and I am about 45% through the LR written and video lessons on the syllabus. I just wanted to share my win and give some encouragement to users on here who are feeling like they cannot learn the test. As of a week ago I had not done any studying at all, and now I intend to take the LSAT in January and apply in the 2025 cycle.

Do not let yourself get discouraged - just do the work and don't give up. 7sage WORKS and I can't wait to check back in once I've made more progress and completed all the lessons!
