166 LSAT 91st percentile, November 2021. Tysm 7 Sage. I went from a 155 diag to a 166 lol.
The explanation for q1 is kinda of eh, I feel A is better than C because C is more of a fact based on paragraphs 1 and 2, while A is based on the whole passage. Like C isn't wrong per se, but it doesn't capture the whole passage.
For LR, I assume you may not be labelling everything or identifying the conclusion in every question. If you identify the conclusion and assumptions, you should be able to easily do most questions, like strengthen, weaken, etc. Good Luck!
I highlight the conclusion in LR. RC, I'm definitely adverse to highlighting easier passages and more prone to highlighting the more tough passages, specifically science.

If law schools aren't going to admit anyone after December, then what's the point of them having the deadline be until January/February?
Uh...... I don't remember hearing that from anywhere. One of my friends who got a 171 applied to columbia and got in Feb and this was 2 years ago.

Hi there, to answer your 2nd question: this is something that is 100% out of your control. The time you spend ruminating over law school admissions data is time lost, never to be retrieved, that you could've spent making yourself a better candidate. So my advice would be a hard exit stage left on this topic & focus rather on how you can do better on the LSAT, how you can improve your applications, & how you can make a bigger impact on your community. Does that make sense? Hope this helps!
YES YES YES YES YES!!!! I wish I could upvote this comment because it's SO TRUE. Doing more LSAT prep is so much more productive and I fall into this god forsaken trap of worrying about the dang cycle too. Ugh, if only humans operated on only logic sometimes instead of emotions, stress, etc etc.

OMG SAME. The only thing I can tell you is to turn off distractions and redo your first ever practice test to see growth. It's hard to get back into the rhythm and you'll have to ease back in 1 game/passage at a time.
This is such a good idea! I hadn't thought about redoing my first PT. I'm hoping this gives me some confidence lol! Thanks and good luck to you!
I just did mine and I only got 2 points up which made me a little sad. Then when I reviewed, I realized I bombed a game because I didn't see the last three rules LMAO. Keep. Moving. Forward!
Honestly, depends on question type. For strength/weaken questions, I usually underline the conclusion and he assumptions for the conclusion. Other than that, usually just the conclusion.

Yeah, in order to do this you needed to prescribe the different answer choices to either Paula, Ashley or both. The only one this fits both is A.
The rest is either only mentioned by Ashley once or not discussed.
Welp, I needed to reread this more carefully
Actually, this imo is one of the better questions.
I got it down to C and E and chose E because C basically implies B-> A (Bad logic when A-> B). Even though the general assembly meets at 7 doesn't mean that the awards of standards committee met. Maybe there was a crisis, maybe they had an impromptu event. Just because the general assembly meets doesn't mean you have to have a specific committee declare a quorum.
E only says that only one committee can meet at a time which the question states with "if... then." Because the committees designate two different times and the general assembly can only meet once, that means that you can't have both because the general assembly meeting can only meet once.
Hope this helps!
Being a born in America Asian really helped with this passage especially with the questions on cognates lol.
For the people saying taking a break, honestly do what works for you. I just PT'd a 168 even though I was averaging high 150s/low 160s and I haven't stopped doing a test a day.
That being said, 80s get pretty bad in terms of LR and RC difficulty. (More LR if anything else.) If you're starting to notice dips, it's probably because you're seeing more weird LR types like fill in the blank or method of reasoning. Else, you need to redrill strengthen/weaken questions. No need to panic.
Honestly, simple sequence games shouldn't usually go beyond 6/7. There is only one game I can think of where I think it went +8 about groceries I think? If you see 9, 10+ slots, then go double layered sequencing.
For recommendations, I would recommend doing the games in the 80s. If I remember correctly, 82 has a ton of great games to drill bc they're all mid range and relevant.
Um, sequence double layering games are pretty standard so the videos should suffice. Granted, if you want to get good at them, you should probably redo PT 31? (The game with the car washes) until you're perfect.
My recommendation is to create the two layers and to split boards. The is one of the only types from my knowledge where splitting boards almost never wastes you time.
I'mma college student so my brain starts shutting down at 11-12 pm while starting up after 9 am. That 6:20 pm slot is NICE.
All of PT 82. They are all fundamentals.
This passage was literally from hell lmao. So weirded out that I only went -2 on this one bc I expected to bomb this passage. I read it to the 13/14 min mark, made sure I understood what it said, then turned my brain off and just breezed through the questions based on slight intuition.
Finally an interesting passage. I saw the world blackmail and it made the LSAT induced sadist in me much more interested.
Honestly, this question is pretty bad. But the ultimate question is; how can you make sure this policy work?
The only AC that talks about the results of the policy is AC E. The rest are based on assumptions that you have to draw. Still feel that is' a bit sour in terms of fairness though.
Um... You should be in the 150s unless you still need to go over something because marginal returns usually happen from 155+ where you actually need to start getting sections either just under perfect or ok.
I started with a 143 diag and am testing low 160s and here are some things I needed to learn.
LR: You need to go over the basics in the curriculum of finding conclusions. What happens in more advanced types of questions like strengthen or weaken, you tend to get lost in them because theyre very wordy and you probably tend to misidentify the conclusion. Parallel questions come from understanding and translating basic logic (not something to focus on until you hit the 150s bc they tend to be two questions usually.) Flaw/Principle questions become easier if you go over logical fallacies. End of story, you can def improve a ton just by learning how to identify conclusions/ doing the basics.
LR: Concentrate on perfecting or at least getting 4/5 on simple sequencing and basic in out. If you still struggle with these types, its because you haven't drilled them long enough. I know, its so much work and can be torture, but I promise once you get these two types down, the other question types will come to you. I'm still working on them because getting to minus 0 is so tricky. Double layered sequencing should also be looked at because its one of the only game types where splitting boards actually works a majority of the time. I've never had a double layered sequencing game where sub game boards wasted time.
RC: Honestly, I can't help you much there. Do the basic ones and follow JY and his advice on short summaries. Personally, I think spending too much time on a passage hurts me because the later tests have questions that are extremely long/practically mini passages, and lots of times reading the questions helps me more than rereading the passage. Hardest to improve.
Overall, you can still make massive gains and getting in the 140s just means you need to go back to your foundations for LR/LG. This applies especially for the later tests because lots of people feel that LR is harder in the 70s/80s because its much trickier to find the conclusion. Hope this helps
OMG, I'm the same way. My test is in six days and I can't even concentrate long enough to take a practice even though I've gone through 50 percent of the prep tests. Honestly, I think you should listen to some nice music and write your thoughts and feelings down. It helps me :)
I was aiming for 170s, but ngl, I can settle for 165s now LMAO.
166, goin to emory. N9 regrets cause my average was 160 lol.
