Hi group,

I would like to start As soon as possible. Maybe mid october so I can arrange my future schedule to be able to attend every meeting without any work, home related scheduling issues.

I work retail, however my boss is very accommodating when it comes to my application for law school. Sundays seem like a good possibility. I live on the west coast, maybe around 3pm PT.

Definitely seem to be needing work on flaw and Necessary Assumptions. Logic games are always a must review for me as well. Specifically in/out games.

Waitlist Advice- Timing

Goodmorning everyone,

I hope you all are well and safe during these intense times in the world. I received a letter from my top choice stating that I have been waitlisted. This was both awesome and painful to read knowing I may or may not be admitted to my top choice. I received this in mid-February. I have been waiting to send a substantive LOCI in early April, but did not express immediate interest when I received the letter from admissions. Have I hurt my chances by waiting too long to respond?

Just to make sure I have this correct, when we do a PT for a BR, I don’t look at the answers before we go over it together right?

Letters Of Recommendation. Who is best?

Hi everyone! I have consistently read that the recommenders should be academic but can be work related if you have been out of school for some time. I graduated undergrad in the year of 2015. Now that I have been out of school for 4 years, I have been working, starting as a barista and am now the General Manager to one of the top stores in the company. I am planning to have two of my previous professors write letters of recommendations, however some people have mentioned that I should have the CEO of my company write a letter, considering he hand picked me to run the store that I am currently working at. I am unsure if asking him is the right thing to do. I am not one to name drop (not that his name is huge) but that is how I feel it would be if I asked him for a LOR. I am convinced the two professors I have chosen will be able to write about my strong academia and talent that I presented through the classes I took. Any thoughts? Am I too far out from college to be focusing more on finding a work reference?

Liza, it seems like I am not the only one who experienced the same situation. Last month, I found myself in the same situation and I thought I was the only person who was not improving. I kept reading other threads hoping to find someone similar but still felt as if I was the lowest scoring person. I could not get better than a 141. I realized there had to be something I was just not getting from the course. Decided to go all the way back to the beginning of the course with the easiest of them all: premise & conclusion. Realized I wasn't as fast as I thought I was on identifying arguments, premises, and conclusions. After I got that, I am currently finishing up my second week of strictly learning the 20 types of flaws. This was where I struggled ALOT, and I came to realize, I never truly understood this material either. Now I am doing much better on the flaw questions.

Reasoning behind this long discussion, try going back to learn the fundamentals. I know firsthand how bad it sucks, but this time around it'll be different considering that you already have knowledge of the material. Take that knowledge and try to dig deeper in the material and your understanding. Like my boyfriend tells me "I know it may be the slowest moving process you've ever had to endure, but at least its moving." Good Luck!

I agree that waiting is worth it! I too had to struggle with pushing my test day back 3 times now. It was hard at first feeling like a constant failure but I've come to terms that I am going to continue to push back my date until I am certain my top choice school will consider me, even more so accept me! Especially for you, all the incredible things you accomplished in your undergrad, will give you that extra boost you want in terms of the application pool. Don't waste that great resume you have on a test score you settle for!!!

Good luck to you! Don't feel like your in this alone, we are all fighting the same war, just different battles.

Study Buddies Help

This may or may not be a discussion usually placed in the threads. But is there a right or wrong way to interact and connect with study buddies? So far I have only been able to connect with one but I feel like I just can't seem to get it right. We are all over the place and cannot seem to find the right way to interact to better help one another. We video chat, as we live very far from one another, and we are on two different levels in terms of our understanding of the material. Any advice on how to improve this?

Not exactly where I am hoping to be yet. But started 7sage @ a diagnostic score of 134 & was horrified because I kept getting told you only improve about 10 points. I was questioning my abilities. I am now consistently scoring mid 150’s. And am still improving, as well as gaining confidence. Cannot wait till I see my first 160!

Hey David! I am totally on the same boat. I have actually been studying on and off for the past year and a half. My diagnostic was 132 and I just sat on the march LSAT and scored a 144. There are many moments in my studies where I question my mental capacity. Then I think back to all of the other real life requirements that always pull me away from my studies. I have made the decision to tell myself, I am in control of my fate and attending law school is something I have given up my career for. I am now FoolProofing logic games. I am sitting in on the July test, and although I am looking for mid to high 150's, my Logic game timing and understanding has improved immensely. I have not taken any PT's because I am trying to drill a little more. But I will say, I feel much more confident and capable after drilling and seeing results. I realized my question isn't am I smart enough, but how much more effort could I be placing to truly learn the in's and out of this exam. I'll be damned if I throw away my dream because some standardized test has told me that I am inadequate. I am excited to take a PT to see if my drilling of sections has helped me get higher scores. I hope this helps. I have always wondered if I was the only person in this deep trench feeling with Law school and the LSAT. Thank you for having the courage to let people like me know we are not alone.

Thank you for the advice guys! I think you guys are 100% correct and I needed some reaffirmation that I was stuck in my standardized testing mode where i must answer every question from #1-28 in order. Cant say how much I love our community and how involved everyone else!

Timing Increase Help

Hey all! I am slowly improving my PT scores and although I have become better at LR sections, I can't get passed completing 18 questions which is negatively affecting my score potential. Any advice on how I can study to improve and make faster times on each question? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks
