I'm in the area and would like to have someone to review LR with, Scored 164 in June and looking to break into the 170s
I agree that this question introduces a lot of potentially hazardous assumption which we are typically instructed to avoid in weakening questions, However, i believe the best way to look at this questions as with most argument assessment type questions is to isolate the assumption that needs to be made to come to the conclusion, namely that for the speaker to definitively say that sophisticated tools were developed after the ancestors could stand upright the necessary in the conditional would need to be failed. Answer choice B is the only one of the ACs that broaches that assumption.
I understood the mistake in the argument to be a False-Dichotomy. In that the argument is assuming if hunting couldn't be totally responsible for the extinction then the main cause must be something else (The disease) does anyone have a different insight on the flaw? #help
Can someone help me understand why D is incorrect? I still understand that the argument is assuming that there can only be cyclical explanations for the cyclical weather pattern. If we were to negate D wouldn't that drastically harm the argument? #help
