"Unless", "Without", and "Except" all equal = "If not"

You can't negate "some" statements. However if a statement says "Not all people do this," this can convert to "some people do not do this." If that makes sense. "Not all" is equivalent to "some not".

No, I believe it is because Menkin is just saying "if this is true, than strikes should never be legally permitted." We don't know if Menkin thinks its true, he is sort of just stating a conditional.

Such a valid confusion. If you read the statement just like this "only if the patient does die can the doctor be guilty of manslaughter." This translate to, If the doctor is guilty of manslaughter, then the patient did die."

I felt like B was correct because it explained the overall trend. As in, people are generally just choosing not to graduate with science degrees, including Chemistry.

I struggled with the wording as well, chose A, and then realized in review it was a prescriptive claim when the stimulus was not prescriptive at all.

New LR Tags and Understanding My Analytics

Hey everyone,

The new LR tags are pretty confusing to me. The basic ones before I found were easy to understand in terms of what I needed to work on. Now it's telling me to work on what seems to be broad types of questions like Value Judgement and I just want to know the specific question types. Can I make it go back to the original analytical tags or is this permanent?

Thanks!

Arianne

I think it's like: if the group of Indigenous people cannot produce evidence, it won't help the Museums case because the Indigenous people don't need to provide written evidence because they never had written evidence in the first place. Thus, the courts no longer expect them to prove there written ownership. So not having proper ownership, will not play into the museums favour.

I am so stumped on how to determine when something is considered a "generalization" or a "general claim"

One thing that got me in this question was the "without" in the first sentence. I know we can't always rely on indicator words. I still thought it would be "research -m-> invest." So why is research the necessary if "without" came before the word?

So if there is a comparative claim in the answers should we just automatically rule it out?

When will this lesson be finished? If it is a crucial component of LR, shouldn't we learn this concept? Perhaps someone from the 7Sage Team can direct us towards an alternative resource that can teach us about Fact vs. Belief vs. Knowledge. Please let me know if this is possible and thank you for your help!

In question 7 could you say it takes the experienced workers equal or longer time to complete tasks. Why is it just longer?
