So I took the J07 test as recommended and I got a 141/156 BR. Yikes.... I feel like trash...Clearly, I have sooo much work to do. I am aiming for the high 160s/170 would be a dream come true. I guess I am curious to know how others have done on their diagnostic?

@ I think late June would be a great time for us to start this BR group! The more I think about it, I'm like that's really only 6 months away! Lol Jan -June literally flew by so we def should start in June.
I am interested!
Definitely doing this now!! thanks!
Yes this is awesome! Thank you for the post!
Hey! I just finished that section as well. I believe “wherever” is considered a Sufficiency indicator.
@ First of all! Congrats on that November score. You will def crack that 165 in Jan! Really appreciate the feedback, it gives me hope :)
@ thanks for the feedback, I cant wait to see some gains like you! We got this.
@ 171!!! Wow, congrats! I have been noticing a lot of advice on understanding that this is a learnable test and that really does help going into this prep journey. I def plan on studying how ever long is needed.
Hey! I’m interested, where are you in the CC?
Awesome to see some Nov/Jan peeps! @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ I started this thread to see if a BR group had been formed but it looks like there is not one yet. All of us are may still working through CC. Any idea of when you will have CC completed? We should prob get a BR group started end of July. If we wanna connect via skype as people move through the CC, that may be helpful for some too.
@ Yes I would be happy to discuss thoughts! Here is the link to the webinar, you may find it useful. https://classic.7sage.com/webinar/weaken-strengthen/
I usually take screen shots from the "quick view" option for the problem set questions I want to revisit and put them in a word doc. It has been working for me pretty well.
This is such valuable content!!! Thanks so much, have been watching your journey from the beginning!!!
Hi guys! I am slightly new to 7sage, in the sense that I still working through the CC. I have been pretty silent when it comes to posting, but a total sponge to everyone else's. I am struggling a bit, and I feel like this is the best place for some much needed advice. Long story short: I am preparing for the Dec test with a 3.0 undergrad GPA, so I know have to literally give this prep my all and have been for the last month. But I am feeling really off track in terms of my focus and overwhelmed at the density of material I am trying not only learn, but master. I work full time and carve out most of study time around work (4 hrs/day )or if I can get in some time in the office I try to as well. I know it's early on in my road to taking this test, but do you guys have any pointers for encouragement during the studying process to avoid being bogged down with the thoughts "This is soo much stuff" and the stress of it. I feel like its starting to take away from my focus at this point... P.S. Sorry if that seems all over the place lol
Totally down to do this!
Hey! @ For me, I always always try to prephase for just about every question type and its a skill in of itself that I continue to work on. With weakening questions, a lot of the answers will seem attractive based off our real-world knowledge or they sound like the address the argument. However when I prephase, I really hone in on that idea of the support structure that is operating between the premise and conclusion. If I can identify that logical leap or "the beam" as JY explained it, the answer choices are much easier to eliminate, and I just go into the ACs anticipating the correct one. There is a great webinar by Nicole Hopkins on the Webinar Videos tab that provides some really great strategies for weakening and strengthening. She discusses causation questions in depth as well. I find the webinars helpful to watch after going over a particular part of the CC that was really challenging.
I'm having a pretty tough time with NA questions right now, definitely seems like my Achilles heel of all the question types. Really going to devote this weekend to getting those down.
I'm in!!! @ the WhatsApp group would prob be the best way for us to it.
The grammar here is so critical to this question.
@ Yeah I was thinking of GoToMeeting but I am not experienced with the admin side of it. Is that something you could spearhead?
I am interested as well, I recently started over as well!
I have to agree with @ on the social media diet. This may not even apply to you, but if it does, then please consider it. It's not like I was an IG celeb or anything so I had no vested interest in it, but the time I would waste scrolling through TLs I could have been have putting that towards my improvement. Also, the mental clutter social media creates can be counter-productive when putting your best attention towards studying. I've replaced the social media with podcasts and that has been a great addition to my daily routine. Usually in the car while driving, or just some random moment I listen and they don't have to be LSAT related. Although I do listen to one that is called "Thinking LSAT" and a lot of personal development/motivational ones like Oprah's Supersoul Conversations, The Tim Ferris Show, and TD Jakes.
Hi! @ This CC was a game changer for me. I too, had tried to self study with recommended books, this was after I tried an in-person course at the University but neither really gave me the understanding required for this test. I came across 7sage, and after watching JY's videos I found myself fully understanding concepts that I could never grasp. That was it, I purchased the Ultimate package, and I plan on upgrading to Ultimate+ later. I am about 60% done with CC and although not confident on anything, I can honestly say I understand it all now! Also the supplemental quizzes and problem sets have been so valuable with reinforcing concepts. The CC in general is laid out in a very strategic way. Everything builds on one another, so in a way it holds you accountable to making sure you're ready to move on.
In short, make the purchase! You won't regret it. Are you planning on sitting in January?
Hi guys- just wanted some feedback on my scenario, as I recently decided against my entire plan and am leaning towards waiting until fall 2018 app cycle.
Originally, I intended on applying this fall after sitting this Dec. However, these last couple months have been riddled with work commitments, and a mil other things leading to much less time than I planned on studying.
Initially, I told myself to “power up” and just make these next 5 months the most productive EVER in order to sit in Dec hit my target (170+)… yeah, no. I have come to the conclusion that this may not be realistic with my current full time job and other obligations that I cannot step away from, nor would I really feel fully prepared. I am learning that this is not a journey that I can just put a fixed date on, as I always usually do with my non-LSAT goals.
Sooo… I’ve figured that it might just be best to wait on this. I hate postponing stuff, but successfully conquering this test is not something that will magically happen, unless serious time is put into my prep and I am not in a position to quit my full time job.
Has anyone else been in this position, or have any feedback on deciding to postpone apps til next cycle to take a year for substantial prep. When I I decided to take this test, I had no idea a year would be the length of my prep, but that is definitely becoming my scenario.
So have a pretty good group already getting through the CC for the Nov/ Jan test. I know it's a bit premature to start BR. Perhaps we can start in August. But do you guys feel like a CC call would be beneficial. We can discuss where we all are, some of our weak areas, study technique/time management, etc? @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @-1
@ thanks for that metaphor, definitely puts it into perspective for me! @ that timeline is good to know, I'm in month 3 now so i will just keep pushing!!
@ Thank you so much for this valuable post! I also plan on learning to tough type efficiently for 0L prep. Do you mind sharing your practices/ any websites or tools that you utilized in order to grasp it well? Thank you again!
Hi everyone! I just would like some feedback on your experience in working through the CC. So I am about 50% of the way through the CC right now and it is definitely not moving as fast as I would have liked but I'm holding on to the idea of "slow and steady wins the race." With that being said, as I cover new topics, some of the earlier concepts that may not be directly relevant to the section I'm on (ie invalid/valid argument forms/ lawgic-specific rules, etc), are not as easy to remember quickly. Then I start to freak out and wonder since I am not recalling things as quickly, I need to step back. Also, to note I'm not just moving swiftly without having a good understanding of what I just learned, it's more so that sometimes it will take a whole week to get through one section (ie Flaw question type with corresponding 20+ problem sets) , and will have me feeling like what I covered earlier in the CC is becoming foggy. I guess what I want to know, is this a common feeling? Did you guys implement any strategies to keep the older CC top of mind? Did you begin your studying with a basic review, or something? Also, how long did it take you to complete the CC, and how did your first PT post CC go?
Ayyeeee Class of 2008 in the building!!! haha
Hey guys, I'm in the process of wrapping up my CC within the next month or so and I was wondering if there is going to be BR study group for those of us planning for Nov 2018/Jan 2019 seating??? If so, I would love to join the group! I noticed the June 2018 group started a while back to give plenty of time to get through the PTs without rushing, so I just don't want miss out if this is already in motion!!!
@ Hi there ! First off, thank you so much for this session. Just curious, should we come to the session with the questions completed already?
Yes, Im shooting to be done by the end of July as well. Really doing my best to move through and stay on it! Im at about 70% as well.
