Admissions/Retake after July Disappointment

Hi all, posting for advice on admissions and LSAT retake. I signed up for June and July tests, scored a 166 on June and was disappointed to get back a 165 on July today. I really had hoped for at least a 168 on July, but here we are.

My question at this point is whether I should keep studying and take one more time in October and apply as soon as those scores come back or if I should apply with my 166 on first day applications open and retake in October once I have already applied? I know that I can get at least into that high 160s range from PTs and I have been consistently BRing 173-174 on my PTs before July. For reference, I have above a 4.0 GPA and solid resumé and would really like to shoot for T14 (maybe with at least a partial scholarship) or a little lower ranked with full ride.

Question -- how long did it take you to get through of all CC? Did you go in order?

Thanks for your feedback! I went through the CC completely in order and it took me around 9 months; that being said, it only took me so long because I am a full time student and worked part time as well, so I didn't get to study many hours/week just because I also had to maintain my GPA. When I went through the CC, I did almost all of the problem sets of the LR and most for the LG and I took notes on paper. I would definitely recommend taking notes because I think it helped me a lot with retention and comprehension.

I would be interested! I usually get -1 or -2 on LR and am having a hard time getting LG and RC down, so I’d love to connect with some of you who struggle with LR but have had success in other sections. We could maybe do a Zoom group?

Also, if I focus on doing timed sections of LG and RC, should I start at the most recent tests or at the beginning or does it not matter much? (I am wondering because I know that the newer LG have more hybrid type games than older tests.)

Getting Actual Score Closer to BR for June Test?

Hi all. So I recently did my first few PTs after going slowly and diligently through the CC. I went from a 152 diagnostic to a 165 on my last PT. (Would definitely advocate going diligently through CC---I was able to increase my score this much without drilling yet beyond CC and a few full length tests.)

So my main concern here is timing. On my last test that I got a 165 actual, I got a 174 BR. I plan on taking the June test and want to know what my best approach is to getting timing down. On my last few PTs, I have missed 1-2 LR questions per section and the rest I missed from LG and RC. Does it make sense for me to focus on doing timed sections of RC and LG for the next month and a half? Should I keep taking timed full length PTs or just focus on LG and RC?

Interested! Reverse splitter here

I am also a reverse splitter (but hoping to change that at least a little with October results). 166 on record and 4.02 GPA with what I think are solid softs/PS. Feel free to DM if you want to talk more about your plans for the cycle

How’d everyone feel about that exam? The comparative passage on the reading comp was a bit tricky for me and that last logic game was so annoying

I agree, I wish I left more time for the last game :(

Are you typically pretty good with the logic games in terms of timing?

Yeah, I usually am. I had 9:45 left for the last game, I wish I had a bit more.

I agree with this sentiment; I usually have no trouble finishing a games section and I got to the last game with a little over 11 minutes and still had to select a random answer for the last question. I found the questions on the last game super time consuming.
